Endodontics

EndodonticsWithin the field of dentistry, there are many specializations that a dentist may focus on. From cosmetic to emergency dentistry, each sub-field has its own benefits and many patients are going to find themselves requiring the expertise of these specialists throughout their life. Our West Hollywood dentist is proud to offer our patients treatments and procedures that deal with the root and soft matter below the tooth, also known as endodontics.

As your endodontist, our dentist will ensure the health of many parts of the mouth that patients simply cannot see. It is unfortunate, but many patients do not realize that the pulp of their teeth or their roots are infected until it becomes extremely painful. In order to prevent this, most professionals in the field of endodontics suggest very frequent trips to the dentist for checkups in order to prevent these diseases.

During regular dental checkups, our dentist will be able to offer a thorough oral examination and X-rays. These two steps are very important in catching disease in its earliest stages before it becomes painful for the patient. When caught early, there is also a much better chance removing the diseased cells and putting a halt to its spread.

One of the primary functions of an endodontist is to perform root canals. These treatments are very common as the American Dental Association claims that as many as 16 million root canals are performed every year in the United States alone. Modern root canals can often be carried out very quickly and with minimal discomfort. During this procedure, our dentist will make a small hole in the tooth to extract the diseased pulp. We can then use a filling to cover the hole and restore the integrity of the teeth.

Modern fillings can be made of an amalgamation of metals or other composite materials and then stained the color of the natural teeth. From start to finish, our dental practice is devoted to every single one of our patients that walk through the door. We are here to carry out all root canals and other procedures that are going to relieve pain and restore your smile.
